Why Tiny Hands Story Interiors exists
The name nods to the small hands that redraw a home’s daily map — toddlers, homework sprawls, grandparents visiting for Sunday lunch. We noticed many heritage flats in Clifton and Redland were styled for empty showhomes, not for families who actually live in them. Our studio exists to close that gap: period-aware rooms that still absorb noise, mess and movement.
A Bristol practice, not a travelling brand
We work almost exclusively within Greater Bristol. Knowing how evening light falls across Park Street, how damp can sit in north-facing Redland basements, and how Victorian terrace stairs turn at awkward landings shapes every recommendation. We are not a franchise template; we are a neighbourhood studio with a Park Street base at 28 Park Street, BS1 5JA.
What “heritage apartment styling” means here
We do not rebuild listed fabric. We arrange soft goods, lighting layers, rugs, joinery-friendly furniture and colour so original features remain legible. When a property sits within a conservation area or carries listed constraints, we treat those as design awareness — protecting sightlines to cornices, keeping chimney breasts clear of bulky units, choosing fixings that can be reversed — rather than offering legal or planning advice.
- Respect for sash windows, shutters and fireplace openings
- Furniture scaled to narrow rooms and low alcoves
- Textiles chosen for washability as much as heritage tone
Who we typically support
Parents moving from a modern flat into a Victorian terrace; couples inheriting a grandparent’s Clifton apartment; landlords who want period character without fragile finishes. Ages and budgets vary, but the shared need is the same: a home that looks considered and still works on a Tuesday morning.
How we stay accountable
